The New All-In-One Platform Modernizing FBA Prep Centers

Our client ran a successful third-party FBA Prep center — but behind the scenes, their operation was held together by a patchwork of disconnected tools, manual workarounds, and constant tab-switching through Amazon's Seller Central. We built them a unified platform that replaced all of it. Today, it powers their own warehouse and is offered as a commercial SaaS product to other prep centers across the industry.

The Problem and The Opportunity

Running an FBA Prep center means managing dozens of Amazon storefronts, coordinating shipments across fulfillment centers, printing labels at volume, and keeping warehouse staff aligned — all while the clock is ticking on inbound deadlines. Our client had scaled past the point where Seller Central and spreadsheets could keep up. Errors were creeping in, training new staff was slow, and every inefficiency was costing real money.

But what made this project especially compelling was the broader opportunity. Every other prep center in the industry was fighting the same battles with the same inadequate tools, and no purpose-built solution existed for any of them. We weren't just solving one company's operational headaches — we were building a product for an underserved market.

Building a Platform That Runs a Warehouse

We developed a full SaaS platform deeply integrated with Amazon's Selling Partner API, purpose-built from the ground up for how FBA Prep centers actually operate. The core of the system is a unified operations dashboard that lets managers create Amazon listings, manage inventory across storefronts, and coordinate shipments to Fulfillment Centers — all from one place, with no external tools required.

Shipment prep is where most errors and slowdowns happen in a warehouse, so we gave this area particular attention. Managers can see exactly where every shipment stands in the prep process, down to the individual item. Staff can add, edit, or remove boxes and items on the fly, keeping the entire team on the same page without shouting across the floor or passing around clipboards.

Label printing — a deceptively complex pain point at volume — was engineered for speed and accuracy. The system generates item, box, pallet, and multi-SKU box labels quickly and correctly, and high-volume orders see the biggest efficiency gains. What used to be a bottleneck is now nearly invisible.

Designing for the Warehouse Floor

A prep center is not an office. Staff are on their feet, moving fast, and often onboarding for the first time. We designed the interface specifically for this environment — large touch targets, clear visual hierarchy, and workflows that minimize the number of taps to complete a task. New employees get up to speed quickly, dramatically reducing training overhead and the margin for error that comes with it.

Scaling Into a SaaS Product

Because the platform was architected as a multi-tenant system from day one, turning it into a commercial product was a natural next step. Other prep centers now subscribe on a monthly basis, getting the same operational tooling without needing to build anything themselves. We also built an affiliate program directly into the platform, giving partners referral codes to earn commissions on new subscribers and creating a built-in growth channel. An integrated in-platform chat system connects subscribers directly with support, keeping issue resolution fast and frustration-free.

The Result

EZ Inventory Prep now runs a tighter, faster operation — with fewer errors, better visibility across every shipment, and the infrastructure to handle growth without adding complexity. More importantly, they've gone from being a prep center that needed better software to a company that sells it. That's the kind of leverage good engineering should create.
